About the Ritual Nurse
I found somatics work in the depths of my own burnout, grief, and deep disconnection. Somatic healing helped me discover the power of rooting into my body, honoring my rhythms, integrating my shadow, and cultivating safety from the inside out. That’s the magic I now share with others as a Certified Somatic Practitioner and Registered Nurse.
I’m Lael King, Your Somatic Guide
I’m a somatic practitioner, sacred space holder, and registered nurse with a deep reverence for the body as a portal for healing. For years, I’ve bridged two worlds: the clinical and the mystical.
From hospitals to healing circles, I’ve witnessed the same truth again and again: sustainable transformation doesn’t happen through willpower or mindset alone - it happens in the body.
How I Found Somatic Nervous System Work
There was a time when I felt trapped in a life that wasn’t mine. For 12 years, I lived in a marriage filled with manipulation and abuse until my body began speaking louder than my mind ever could. I sought help the way I was taught (through talk therapy and logic), but no matter how many sessions I attended, the relief never came.
In 2022, I found somatic nervous system practices, and everything changed. My body softened. My sleep deepened. My pain eased. I found my voice, my strength, my hope. For the first time, healing felt possible. Somatic work quite literally changed my life.
Why I Bridge Modern + Holistic
In both my professional and personal life, I’ve seen the limitations of either-or thinking. Those who dismiss holistic modalities often miss the wisdom of the body. Those who reject modern medicine sometimes overlook the life-saving support it can offer. I believe true healing lives in the middle. When we cling to only one path, we cut ourselves off from powerful resources. My work is about integration, inviting in the best of both worlds so that healing isn’t limited by dogma, but expanded by possibility.
Ritual Nurse Credentials
Traditional
Background
I have over 21 years of experience in healthcare, including intensive care, cardiac nursing, and labor and delivery. I hold a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Public Health (MSN-PH), and I’m a board-certified patient advocate. I also founded Nightingale Nurse Consultants, a practice dedicated to improving access and outcomes in healthcare, particularly around advocacy and provider reimbursement.
Holistic
Background
My most fulfilling work began when I stepped beyond the charts and coding systems. Since 2022, I’ve immersed myself in somatic nervous system modalities and trauma-informed care. I am a certified somatic practitioner, blending my clinical expertise with nervous system education, earth medicine, and body-based practices to support the whole person. More importantly, I do what I teach.
Holistic Medicine vs Westen Medicine
My work lives at the intersection of science and spirit. I weave evidence-based care with earth-rooted ritual so my clients can experience healing that feels both grounded and deeply sacred.
This is not for those looking for toxic positivity, hustle culture hacks, or a bypass around their humanity. If you believe “you just have to want it enough,” or that healing is about keeping a high vibe and cutting off anyone who challenges you, then this ain’t your space.
I don’t do quick fixes. I don’t do spiritual fluff. I don’t pretend trauma gets healed in a single sound bath or breathwork session. I hold a sacred, trauma-aware container and I expect participants to come with respect, readiness, and a reverence for the work.

My Mission as a Somatic Practitioner
I do this work because I know what it is to suffer—and what it means to slowly rebuild. My mission is to create spaces where women can release the stories that keep them stuck and remember their innate capacity to heal. I’m not here as a guru, but as a companion—walking beside you until safety is your baseline, rest is your birthright, and wholeness feels like home.
